February Proclaimed Black History Month by Town Mayor and Board of Commissioners

On February 4, 2025, the Town of Rolesville Mayor and the Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation highlighting Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration of African Americans' achievements and a time to recognize their central role in U.S. History. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated February as Black History Month.

This month's edition of the Mayor's Show will highlight two crucial pieces of history within the African American community in Rolesville: New Bethel Church and the Jonesville Community

The North Carolina African American Heritage Commission offers numerous events commemorating the month across the state. Click HERE to see those.
