Rolesville operates under a council-manager form of government, where the Town Board is responsible for legislative actions and the Town Manager is responsible for overseeing Town operations.
The Town Manager is appointed by the Town Board as Chief Administrative Officer of the town, and is ultimately responsible for the enforcement of local laws, and the assurance of sound fiscal and operational practices of the town.

TOWN MANAGER
Eric Marsh was hired as Rolesville's Town Manager on June 4, 2024. Mr. Marsh served as Rolesville’s Assistant Town Manager since November 2021, and had served as the Interim Town Manager since December 2023.
Mr. Marsh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from UNC Chapel Hill. He has amassed 14 years of experience in civil engineering, project management, strategic planning, and leadership with the City of Durham, Town of Carrboro, Durham County Government, and UNC Healthcare.
In addition to holding memberships in the International City/County Manager’s Association, the North Carolina City/County Management Association, and the National Forum of Black Public Administrators, Mr. Marsh was recently recognized by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL) as one of the nation’s 100 Top Influencers in Local Government for 2024. According to ELGL, Mr. Marsh is “a role model in local government who is paving the way for others.”
In addition to his career obligations, Marsh serves as Board Chair for the YMCA of the Triangle and mentors future engineers and public sector leaders.
ASSISTANT TOWN MANAGER
Steven Pearson is the Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Rolesville, NC, where he leverages over 20 years of leadership experience to drive impactful community initiatives. An accomplished Corporate Social Responsibility leader with a strong background in technology, Steven has worked extensively with governments to create smarter cities through innovative solutions, strategic planning, and public-private partnership development. He brings expertise in philanthropy, K-12 education, entrepreneurship, disaster response, citizen engagement, and grants administration.
In his current role, Steven leads public works, parks and recreation, and the implementation of the town's strategic plan. His dedication to excellence and collaborative leadership has consistently delivered results, including securing funding for transformative projects and implementing innovative solutions that address community needs. Steven is committed to fostering sustainable growth, enhancing government operations, and building strategic partnerships that improve the quality of life for Rolesville residents.
Steven is a change agent and purpose-driven leader dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. Recognized for his contributions in North Carolina, he has received prestigious honors, including the Triangle Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award and the Leadership in Diversity Award. Steven is also a recipient of the Marshall Memorial Fellowship from the German Marshall Fund. Passionate about inspiring others, he frequently speaks on leadership and fatherhood.
Mr. Pearson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the Boards of Directors for the YMCA of the Greater Triangle, Triangle Community Foundation, and Research Triangle Park Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to community leadership and strategic growth for our region.
