Rolesville to Build a Public Library with Passage of Wake County Library Bond Referendum

The Town of Rolesville will build its first public library. According to unofficial election results, the $142 million bond for Wake County Public Libraries passed with more than 56% of the vote.

Mayor Ronnie Currin issued the following statement on the bond referendum’s approval:

“Thank you to the voters who supported this initiative. With your approval, Rolesville will build its first public library as part of this bond. This library is not just a desire for the Town; it’s a necessity for our residents. Traveling to Wake Forest or Zebulon no longer makes sense. Rolesville is a growing community with expanding needs, and we are very excited for this opportunity. I’d also thank Wake County’s Board of Commissioners and Wake County Public Libraries for their continued support. We look forward to turning this dream into a reality.”

The bond will fund projects starting in fiscal year 2026, which begins in July 2025. The Town of Rolesville plans to build its library as part of a new municipal campus in the coming years. Those plans are still in the works. More information will be sent out as it becomes available.
