Mayor's April 3 Message on COVID-19

Stay Home, Stay Safe, and Stay Connected

Fellow Rolesville Residents,

As you know, we are now in our first full week of the stay at home order. Both Wake County and Governor Cooper issued similar orders with some minor differences. We must abide by the strictest conditions of each order. For instance, two of the differences are:

  • Definition of mass gatherings. Governor Cooper’s order is for no more than 10 people to gather at any one time.  Wake County’s order is for zero people to gather.  We must follow the Wake County order and no gatherings of unrelated people shall occur.
  • Stay at home time period. Governor Cooper’s order is through April 30th.  Wake County’s order is through April 16th.  We must follow Governor Cooper’s order, unless rescinded to an earlier date.

This week, I participated in a virtual meeting hosted by the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce with their members about the on-going crisis and the impact to local businesses. Information was shared among participants on resources available. I continue to encourage you to support the Rolesville businesses that are open and thank them for their services during this tough time.

Town services continue. Next Monday will be our regularly scheduled yard waste. And trash and recycling services continue every Tuesday. While Town Hall is closed, our normal services such as building permits, administrative services, and recreation services continue virtually or by phone. Finally, the Rolesville Police Department continues to provide the essential service of providing quality law enforcement for us.

The most significant change this week to our services was the extension for postponing recreation programming until April 30 so we comply with Governor Cooper’s order. Otherwise, there are no new updates.

For the most up to date information on Town services and resources available, continue to monitor the Town of Rolesville website

So, stay home, stay safe, and stay connected to each other Rolesville.

Sincerely,

Ronnie I. Currin

Rolesville Mayor
