Board of Commissioners Approve Proclamations for Diabetes Awareness Month and Employ A Veteran Week

During the Board of Commissioners meeting on November 7, 2024, the Board approved two proclamations: Employ a Veteran Week and Diabetes Awareness Month

From November 11-15, 2024, the Town of Rolesville will observe Employ a Veteran Week. The town's proclamation follows Governor Roy Cooper's signing of a state proclamation about Employ a Veteran Week. Various events will be held throughout the state to help connect veterans to jobs and other services. North Carolina is home to nearly 800,000 veterans. The Board also signed the proclamation highlighting November as Diabetes Awareness Month. More than 50,000 people in North Carolina are diagnosed with diabetes annually; more than a million adults report having been diagnosed with the disease in our state.
