Police Sergeant

SALARY: $48,905 – $72,379

Job Duties:
An employee in this class assists in supervising the employees and activities of a patrol shift. This employee is a working supervisor in performing similar work as the subordinates and also serves in a troubleshooting, advisory and supervisory capacity. Work requires the employee to plan work activities over a short period of time, organize and assign the daily work function in an effective and efficient manner, and ensure it is completed while adhering to the department’s policies and procedures. The employee must exercise judgment and discretion in assigning work and advising officers in the correct approach to assignments and/or in dealing with defendants, lawyers, plaintiffs and the general public. Work involves frequent public contact which requires tact, firmness, and decisiveness.

Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements: Graduation from a standard high school and completion of advanced courses and seminars in various phases of police work; preferably completion of a college degree program in police science, criminal justice, law enforcement or related area.

Desirable Training & Experience: Considerable experience of a progressively responsible nature in all phases of law enforcement work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience to include supervisory experience.

Special Requirements: Before assignment to this class, employees must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and have completed the minimum requirements established by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers.

Recreation Instructor – The Town of Rolesville is seeking a positive team player for contracted Instructor position.   We are seeking to broaden and expand our program offerings by hiring instructors who offer unique programming opportunities to our community.  Responsibilities include instructing various programs and assists with the marketing of their programs.  Your schedule can be flexible as to when (day and time) programs are offered.  Please include any certifications (if applicable) with your application.
