Happy Birthday Rolesville!!!
Let’s Celebrate Our Past and Embrace Our Future
Believe it or not, the Town of Rolesville was first incorporated on January 18, 1837 by the North Carolina Legislature. That makes this small quaint town the second oldest municipality in Wake County. Only the City of Raleigh was chartered earlier around 1794. Considering all of that, the Town of Rolesville will turn 175 years old in the year 2012. In celebration of this amazing number of years, the Town will have several events throughout the year to commemorate the milestone.
In 2010, the Town of Rolesville Board of Commissioners established a small committee to organize and plan these commemorative events. This committee is being chaired by Town Commissioner Shannon Whitley. If you are interested in volunteering or planning any of these events, please contact either Commissioner Shannon Whitley at shannon_whitley@yahoo.com or Town Manager Bryan Hicks at bryan.hicks@rolesville.nc.gov.
CALENDAR
A 2012 calender commemorating our anniversary is currently on sale. It has pictures of the past and present following a special theme for every month. The calendar would be a great gift for friends and family as many have already planned. The cost is $12 and if you would like it mailed then it will be $14 total.
If you are interested in seeing a copy of it OR to get your hands some, simply contact Town Hall at 556-3506. You are also welcome to email the Town Manager at bryan.hicks@rolesville.nc.gov and he’ll get one to you also. It is a wonderful and professional keepsake for all.
